seperation of Herrin twins

Less than 3 months ago I had posted a "news happening" about the separation of Carlsen girls that were conjoined.  Isabelle & Abbigail are 6 months old.

Now HERE is another separation done on the Herrin twin girls (home page).  Kendra & Maliyah Herrin are 4 years old.  Their surgery was done August 7th, 2006.

My concerns and prayers for both of these families.

9 children, 2 adults in one bedroom apt.

IN THE NEWS.......... women gives birth to quadruplets in Los Angeles on July 6th.  This news in itself is not odd, but the quadruplets were with NO fertility drugs..........AND.......the quads have 5 older siblings.   Three of the siblings are 3-year-old triplets.  Also a 15 year old sibling and a 17 year old.   All eleven people will be in a one-bedroom apartment once the quads come home from the hospital.

Kennedy blog has additions

Another blog that I started watching a couple months ago has some new additions..........the babies have arrived!!!!  THREE !!!  On Thursday, June 29, 2006............ 1 girl and 2 boys

HERE is the Dad's (Chuck) proud announcement.  Chuck and Meva, the new parents, started their blog 3 and half months ago.  Reason was to give progress reports on Meva during her pregnancy with the triplets. 

I have a regular link to their blog, The Kennedy Triplets,  in my left column under "Triplets" category, if you wish to continue to "check in" on the newborns.  They have pictures.

If you have been watching any of the news on TV this past weekend, I'm sure you have heard about the surgery performed on Friday in separating 6 month olds Isabelle & Abbigail Carlsen at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

There will be a Special entitled "Surviving Sextuplets and Twins" on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at 8:00 pm EST.  (also later same night at 11:00 pm EST   -   then again on Saturday, May 20th at 1:00 pm EST (afternoon)).  This special will be about The Gosselins.  DHC TV schedule     I have added a new link in my  "4 or more"  group (left column) to the Gosselin's Home Page.

I do not  "get" the DHChannel.  If any of my local readers could tape one of these airings for me, I'd appreciate it.

1906 - 2006

It's so sad.  Arthur Winston retired less than a month ago, on his 100th birthday.  Now he has passed away  in less than 1 month after retiring.

LISTEN to me

I consider myself to be an everyday, ordinary United States citizen.  Just a Plain Jane.  I keep my nose out of politics.  Our servicemen over the years have given us the freedom to express our personal thoughts.  (Blogs are full of personal thoughts)  I don’t usually get on my soap box, but…….I am now.

All I have been hearing recently on the news is about this DOMESTIC  EAVESDROPPING  or “tapping in on all telephone calls”.  I do not claim to know all the “ins” and “outs”.  This is my personal opinion.  I say:  go right ahead, the government can tap in on my phone calls.   I have nothing to hide.  How do you expect our government to protect us from terrorists to their fullest capabilities without having this authority to tap in on everybody?  The people opposed (which are the loud MINORITY) to it are saying, “but, they should need a judge to warrant it first”.  But THIS may be the first indication of a possible threat.  Then “we” can nip-it-in-the-bud before hundreds, or thousands, of innocent people get killed by the hand of these terrorists.

In 99.9% situations, you must give up something in order to receive something else in return.  I will proudly give up this particular privacy in order to receive a safer place to live.  A safer place for my children and my children’s children to live.   GOD BLESS AMERICA!  and God Bless George W. !!!

With the news concentrating on Hurricane Rita all this week, I decided to hunt for the OTHER happening in the news. This is what I found today (which happened during this week).  Might even call this "my Friday's Five".

1. Wildfires cause residents to evacuate in Colorado.  The Denver Channel

3. A Katrina refugee young man gunned down in Chattanooga,TN (robbed of his RedCross debit card)  on CNN.com

5.  NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneer's player Carnell Williams, formally of AUBURN Tigers, has won, for the second week in a row, the "Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week".  This Rookie of the Week link is where they will post, each week of football season, the new nominees each week (so bookmark it).  You can VOTE for the most deserving/favorite player between Tuesday & Thursday morning.  Winners are announced on each Thursday afternoon.  IT'S FUN!

TV 7-8:00 pm CST

If you had turned on your TV for an evening of watching, especially from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST, you either watched the Telethon of "Shelter from the Storm Concert" or had a fairly difficult time in finding other programing.  My nature is to make "lists".  So just in case you were wondering which channels did and did not.....here's my list.  It is not a complete list, it only names what I consider to be "the main" channels.

The following stations/channels, from my antenna and my basic satellite, ALL carried the telethon........(as if you didn't already at least suspect it)..........ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS......and......COURT TV, TVGC, E!, TV1, USA, TBS, FX, REAL, OXGN, LIFETIME, PAX, FMC, BRVO, WGN, GSN, LINK.

BET had their own individual Relief Telethon going on.

These satellite channels did NOT carry the "Shelter from the Storm Concert" telethon............HIST, A&E, WE, TRAV, DISCOVERY, TLC, APL, TVLD, FAM, HALLMARK, QVC, SPIK, CMT, MTV, VH1, Encores   and many more including the baseball, football, shopping, news, and audio-only-music channels.

HOPE THEY RAISED BOO-COO OF MONEY. 

Isn't it amazing how America pulls together?  Do you remember what your emotions were 3 years ago ?   After 9-11 ?
