It's been quite awhile since I have posted any "Crusades". My crusades are not to attack the past, but to change the future.
Are you a person which keeps all (or a selected special few) the greeting cards that you received for your birthday, wedding anniversary, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.?
My crusade today............
to the GIVER: sign more than just your name; try to write a small personal note. It doesn't have to sound like another greeting cards, just something from your heart, even though it may be something that you have said time and time before.
to the RECEIVER: keep all the cards from everyone for at least a year. You ask why? If something happens to one of those loved ones before the "next occasion", then you will have one of their last "heart felt" messages (in their own hand writing) that they sent to YOU.
"TO MY HUSBAND" "from your loving wife"

I have always held on to each card my grandmother sent me thinking it could be the last. Imagine my surprise when I was cleaning out her house and found every single card I had sent her with a response and/or prayer written in her handwriting on it. She was good at those long rambling notes so it is a habit I acquired long ago.
This is a good reminder.
(Response from Cindy: How wonderful ! It has never occured to me to write anything additional, except for the date, on a card that I had received.)

Sweet idea to save those special cards - I do...and you and I are both painfully aware that it's a very real possibility that today's occasion may be the last.
Having a sentiment in someone's handwriting is priceless...
